Moms Demand Action is a nationwide grassroots movement dedicated to advocating for public safety measures that protect people from gun violence. Since its founding in 2012, it has become the largest grassroots organization of its kind, working tirelessly to promote stronger laws, effective policies, and a culture of gun safety.

Melissa will provide a timely discussion about the challenges of gun violence in the Greater Birmingham area and across Alabama. She will highlight the efforts of Moms Demand Action to address these issues and disrupt the cycle of gun violence.

The talk will include a special focus on the alarming connection between domestic violence and the increasing use of firearms by abusers, shedding light on how this crisis impacts our communities and how we can advocate for change.
