Zonta Club of Birmingham partners with YWCA Family Domestic Violence Center

Zonta Club of Birmingham (ZCOB) partners with the YWCA (Birmingham, AL/US) by providing quarterly welcome boxes for women entering the YWCA Family Domestic Violence Center. The boxes are affectionately called “Dot Boxes” in loving memory of a founding Zonta Club of Birmingham member, Dorothy (Dot) Mueller, who donated so much of her time and passion to the YWCA as a Board Member, volunteer, & supporter. Each quarter, ZCOB fills 20-30 pink or clear plastic shoeboxes (decorated with dots) with lotion, shampoo, conditioner, combs/brushes, deodorant, tissue, cards, calendars, pen, paper, and other personal items that a DV survivor or resident might need upon checking into the center.

Sometimes, just a small, personal gift can bring a smile to an otherwise tense and stressful situation.
